B’luru: Woman dies by suicide; family alleges dowry harassment

A woman was found dead in her husband’s house at Weaver’s colony in Nelamangala on Saturday, June 4.

The deceased identified as Pooja allegedly died by suicide.

Pooja and Manjunath had entered into marriage two years ago. The deceased’s family alleged that she was driven to suicide by her husband and in-laws.

Pooja’s parents alleged that Manjunath would often come home drunk and pick quarrels with his wife. Her in-laws too were harassing her for dowry, they said.

They urged officials to take stern action against Manjunath. Nelamangala police registered a case in this regard.
