B’luru: Woman hacked to death in front of son, chauffeur; estranged husband named in FIR

Unidentified assailants brutally hacked to death a woman in front of her 13-year-old son and chauffeur in at Hosa Road Junction near Electronics City, South Bengaluru on Monday night.
The deceased identified as V Archana Reddy, 42, was returning home to Bellandur in her chauffeur-driven car when the assailants intercepted the car and surrounded it, armed with weapons. The accused then dragged Archana out of the vehicle and assaulted her with the weapons as her son and chauffeur watched in pure shock.
Archana was later taken to a hospital but succumbed to her injuries.
Reddy’s estranged husband, Naveen has been named in the FIR registered at Electronics City police station and is the prime suspect in the case.
As per the FIR registered with the police, Reddy was the daughter of a real-estate businessman and had married Naveen four years ago in what was a second marriage for each other.
The couple had disputes over property and money and Archana had also filed a case of physical assault against her husband at the Jigani police station.
Police had counselled them but they kept fighting Police now suspect that Naveen is behind the murder.
A video of the murderous assault has surfaced and police are trying to identify her assailants. “Once they are caught we will know the motive for the murder,” a police officer said.
