HSR Layout police have arrested a woman in connection with the murder of her husband with help from her paramour and then trying to project it as an accidental death.
The arrested are identified as Nandini Bai (22) and her lover Nitish Kumar (22), both residents of HSR Layout 2nd Sector.
The deceased identified as Venkataramana Nayak, a native of Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh worked as a salesperson at a shop in Indira Nagar during the day and as a security guard at the building where he lived at night.
Venkataramana and Nandini were not on cordial times for some time now and the latter had developed a relationship with Nitish who happens to be her childhood friend.
On January 9, Venkataramana caught Nandini and Nitish in a compromising position at his house and a fight ensued between them. Nitish hit Venkataramana who collapsed to the ground and later thye banged his head on a grinding stone, killing him.
They tried to cover up the crime by dragging his body near the toilet and placing his head on the stone. Nandini then called the police helpline and claimed that her husband slipped and banged his head on the stone resulting in his death.
The post-mortem report revealed an assault on Venkataramana.
During the investigation, police noticed that another person had visited the house on January 9 and Nandini’s phone records too created suspicion. Based on this she was taken into custody and during the questioning, she confessed to the crime.
