B’luru: Woman pillion rider injured in pothole mishap dies

A 50-year-old pillion rider who was thrown off the scooter after a KSRTC bus rammed into their two-wheeler succumbed to her injuries at the hospital on Monday night.
The deceased identified as Umadevi had sustained critical injuries and was undergoing treatment at ESI hospital in Rajajinagar.
The accident took place near Sujatha Talkies on Monday morning. Umadevi’s daughter, Vanitha who was riding the scooter was trying to avoid a pothole when the bus rammed into them from the rear. The women were thrown off the scooter due to the impact.
The FIR filed with Malleshwaram traffic police mentions that the bus driver’s negligence caused the accident. However, a DHNS report states that Vanita told media persons said that the mishap took place as she was avoiding a pothole.
