Bengaluru: In a tragic incident, a 34-year-old woman was killed in a freak mishap after her hair got entangled in the paint mixing machine.

The deceased has been identified as Shweta, a native of Ramnagara. Her husband Suresh works as a plasterer while Shweta worked at the Shree Paints factory in Nelegedaranahalli.

On Tuesday around 4pm, Shweta had put the raw materials required to make the paint into the mixing machine. Her hair allegedly got stuck into the grinder machine while she was removing the paint without switching off the machine.

Her frantic cries for help went unheard due to the sound of the grinder. When her co-workers arrived at the scene, Shweta was dead and her head severed in the machine.

The police and the factory owner were notified of the incident. The police reached the spot, removed the dead body from the grinder and sent it to Victoria Hospital for post-mortem examination. A case of negligence has been registered against Shree Paints factory owner on a complaint filed by Shweta’s husband.

An investigation is underway.
