A 24-year-old youth allegedly tried to stab his parents and other family members when they tried to re-admit him into an alcohol de-addiction centre.
The youth, Tejas happens to be a school dropout. He would pick up petty fights at home in a drunken stupor and pestered his parents for money.
Fed up by this, his parents contacted the alcohol de-addiction centre on Thursday evening asking them to readmit him for treatment. When the personnel from the de-addiction centre arrived at their house, Tejas lost his temper and tried to assault them, his parents as well as the other family members.
Later, he ran out of the house and vandalised nearly 12 parked vehicles in the locality. After this, he joined a Ganesha procession at Yeshwanthpur and held the weapon next to the Ganpati idol which was similar to a scene from Upendra starrer ‘A’.
Police who arrived at the spot arrested Tejas with the help of locals.
