BM Farooq to donate salary, allowances to poor patients

Bengaluru: BM Farooq, a Mangaluru-based businessman and one of the wealthiest MLCs in the Legislative Council has said that he would utilize the money that he gets as salary and compensation to help poor patients. 

With wealth of over Rs 770 crore, according to a election affidavit recorded by the JD(S) leader, Farooq has regularly been named as the money bag of the JD(S) party. 

The MLC, while addressing the media said that he intends to give the Rs one lakh salary in addition the allowances that he gains as a MLC for treatment of poor cancer, heart patients. 

He likewise educated that he runs an orphanage named Áyesha Memorial, managed by the Sadhya Education Trust. The trust aims at enpowering orphan girls through education and furthermore watches out after their shelter and other basic needs. “I have vowed to utilize this money on the individuals who need money or services . I will issue a check to poor cancer and heart patients who require money for medicines and surgeries” Farooq said.
