Bangalore: Thieves have stolen a BMTC bus stand that was built only a month ago in the city!
A BMTC bus stop built at a cost of Rs 10 lakh just a month ago, not far from the city police commissioner’s office is missing, a complaint said.
N. Ravi Reddy, the vice-president of the private organization that had built the bus stop, filed a case in the High Grounds police station.
According to the complaint, the stainless steel structure was erected, with permission from BBMP, by the organization on August 21 at a cost of Rs 10lakh in front of the Coffee Day outlet on Cunningham Road.
On August 28, the structure was missing from the spot. When the issue was raised with BBMP, the officials confirmed that the civic body had not cleared the bus stand.
Surprised by this, Ravi Reddy raised a complaint at the High Grounds police station on September 30. An investigation is currently in progress, the police said adding that CCTV footage from nearby areas is being collected.
