BMTC launches ‘special buses’ for essential services

The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has decided to operate special services from Thursday for essential services personnel.
Earlier in the view of lockdown, BMTC had suspended its services till April 1. The special buses can by those traveling to hospitals and other essential services.
Deputy CM and Transport Minister Ashok Sawadi said “The BMTC will no longer be available to the masses. Instead it will be used only for the travel of personnel who are providing essential services,”
BMTC officials said they will operate 22 hospital special services buses on 12 routes. These routes are said to cover major hospitals including private and government hospitals in the city.
