Bengaluru: MLA Dr. Bharat Shetty emphasized the need for government support to boost investments in the tourism sector of Dakshina Kannada, a region known for its natural beauty between the sea and the Western Ghats.

Dr. Shetty highlighted the potential for tourism development in the area during a session in the Legislative Assembly.

He stated that with government encouragement for investment, the region could see significant changes, including job opportunities and sustainable livelihoods. He advocated for the promotion of temple tourism and beachside development.

During the question and answer session, Dr. Shetty noted that 37 tourism spots have been identified in Dakshina Kannada so far, but there are many more potential sites. He urged the government to identify additional projects and release funds to support tourism and job creation in the district.
