Brahmagiri landslide: Two cars dug out; search ops continues

Madikeri: Rescue workers found two vehicles belonging to the priest who is missing after the landslide at the Brahmagiri hills.

A Duster and an Ambassador were found during the search operation. Both cars were removed with the help of an earth-moving machine.

The search operations for Narayana Achar and three other stuck under the mud has now intensified. The operations are being conducted by the National Disaster Response Force and State Disaster Response Force.

During Monday’s operation, utensils, pooja and clothes from the house of Achar’s were found. Achar’s daughters, who were living abroad, had arrived on the same day.

Talakaveri temple priest Narayana Achar, his wife Santha, his brother Ananda Theertha and assistant priests Ravikiran and Srinivas are missing since the landslides. Ananda Theertha’s body was found on Saturday. Search operation for the remaining four is underway.
