In a courageous but tragic incident, two army officers laid down their lives during an exchange of fire with terrorists in Rajauri, Jammu and Kashmir, on Wednesday, November 22. Among the fallen heroes is Capt M V Pranjal (29), a native of Mysuru, Karnataka.

Capt Pranjal, the only son of retired managing director of MRPL, M Venkatesh, met his untimely demise while valiantly serving the nation. He had pursued his early education up to SSLC at Delhi Public School near MRPL in Suratkal, Mangaluru, and later completed his engineering degree at the National Defence Academy.

At the time of his martyrdom, Capt Pranjal was on the brink of being promoted from the rank of captain to major. His sacrifice in the line of duty reflects the unwavering commitment of the armed forces to safeguard the nation against external threats, particularly in regions facing security challenges.

The mortal remains of Capt M V Pranjal are expected to arrive in Bengaluru on Thursday, where the final rites will be conducted with due military honors at Bannerghatta. The nation mourns the loss of a dedicated and brave officer, and condolences pour in from across the country for the grieving family and friends of Capt Pranjal.
