Brawl during Darshan’s campaign, CM visits the injured

Mysuru: Kannada actor Darshan’s campaign for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Chamundeshwari resulted in a fight between workers of the JD(S) and the Congress in Naganahalli, which belongs to the same constituency. Four workers from the Congress and two from the JD(S) were injured, who were later admitted to Krishna Rajendra Hospital. CM Siddaramaiah visited the injured Congress workers in the hospital.

Police informed that a few JD(S) workers were displeased with Mr. Darshan’s campaign for the Congress, since the CM had ignored the demands of water for irrigation. They criticised the actor during his roadshow and displayed their party flag during the rally, which sprung the police into action. Later, things turned serious when the fight broke out again on Saturday night.

Both the Congress and the JD(S) workers have filed cases of assault against each other.

Meanwhile, Mr. Siddaramaiah announced on Sunday that he was going to focus more on Chamundeshwari so as to defeat the JD(S). He also added that he would not campaign in Varuna constituency since he was confident of winning a seat there.
