Bribe case: ACB catches Puttur surveyor red-handed

Uppinangady: The Anti-Corruption Bureau officials caught Puttur land surveying officer Shivakumar red-handed while he was receiving bribe at the new bus stop here on Friday Oct 4th.
Gopal Mugera, a resident of Hennala in Hirembadadi village had submitted an application on Jan 21, 2015 for the measuring of his ancestral property. The surveyor in response had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 30,000 for conducting the measurement. Accordingly on Friday, as the official was receiving a bribe of Rs 5,000 from the victim in front of a hotel near the new bus stand here, the ACB sleuths conducted a sudden raid and caught the official red-handed.
ACB Superintendent Sudhir M Hegde, Investigating officer Inspector Shyam Sunder, Yogish Kumar, head constable Hariprasad, Radhakrishna K, Umesh, Radhakrishna D A, staffs Prashant, Vaishali, Rakesh, Rajesh, Ganesh and others were part of the operation.
