A newlywed couple made a theatrical escape from their wedding celebration, purposefully burning themselves on fire.
Gabe Jessop and Ambyr Bambyr met while working as stunt doubles on the set of Hollywood movies.
A video of their wedding reception stunt, which DJ and wedding photographer Russ Powell released on TikTok, has gone viral.
The bride and groom are experienced professionals who took all required safeguards. Do not attempt it at home!
The caption read, “when stunt people marry.”
In the footage, Ambyr is seen waving a blazing bouquet of flowers that swiftly spread across the backs of the bride and groom before they continued walking, waving to the delighted guests.
The newlyweds stayed composed throughout the stunt, eventually kneeling to the ground and letting two men with fire extinguishers extinguish the flames.
People were worried that Ambyr’s hair would catch fire. To this, Powell explained that “they both had anti-burn gel in their hair and face, then she had a wig on top.”
On TikTok, the video has been seen over 13 million times.
