Broad daylight theft: Thieves snatch gold chain from lady

Kadri: Two scooter-borne thieves snatched the gold chain from the neck of a lady in a shocking incident that occurred at Shivabhag at 5 pm  on Thursday, November 22. Reportedly, the thieves are said to be around 25 to 30 years of age and were wearing helmet during the crime.

Apparently, the thieves snatched the chain from the neck of Maria Pinto (59), wife of Rolfy Pinto, resident of Kadri, Shivabhag. The value of the gold chain, which was weighing 20 grams, is said to be Rs 60,000.

The incident

According to sources, the incident took place when Maria was returning home from the cemetery near the ESI hospital at Kadri, Shivabhag after partaking in the funeral of her neighbour, Urban Nazareth. 

It is understood that the thieves came in a silver colour Honda Activa scooter; however the scooter’s registration number remains unknown. The police are on the lookout for the thieves.
