Udupi: A recreational club owner was brutally murdered near a recreation club at ‘7th Heaven’ building in Manipal on Sunday, July 29th.
The deceased has been identified as Guruprasad Bhat (47), a resident of Ambagilu in Puttur. He was one of the owners of the recreation club and the mureder took place after a weekend party.
According to sources, four armed miscreants who came in a Maruti Omni, stabbed the deceased using lethal weapons including swords and machetes. The grievously injured Guruprasad was rushed to hospital at Mainpal but he lost the battle for his life en-route.
Manipal police are investigating the murder and suspect that the motive behind the attack may be an old rivalry.
Swift police action nabs 3 suspects
In a swift action by the police, within a few hours of the crime, three people suspected of having committed the murder of the club owner were nabbed by the police near Kunluru bridge in Kundapur late Sunday evening. The arrested have been identified as Sujith Pinto, Pradeep Poojary and Rajesh. Another suspect is absconding.
