BSF jawan from Bidar martyred during gunfight with terrorists in Punjab

Bidar: A BSF soldier from the district here was killed in a gunfight with terrorists on the border at Punjab on Tuesday.

Basavaraj Ganapathi, 31, from Alur village in Aurad taluk is the martyr.

Officials informed Basavaraj’s family of his martyrdom at 6 pm on Tuesday.

Basavaraj had joined the Border Security Force in 2013. After being trained in Indore he had served in Kolkata and Tripura

He was assigned to the Punjab border only 20 days ago.

His family members said that they have not received any information about bringing his dead body to the village.

Basavaraj is survived by his wife. He was married five years ago had no children.
