BSY to Host Luncheon for Dalits at His Residence in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Karnataka state BJP president BS Yeddyurappa will host a lunch for dalits at his residence located at Dollars colony in the state capital on August 28. The luncheon arranged is expected to reduce the differences between the members of dalit communities, BSY and BJP unit in Karnataka, sources said.

BSY reportedly took the decision as a gesture of thanksgiving for the hospitality extended to him by the dalits during his statewide tour recently. The move is perceived as a reply to the ruling Congress party in Karnataka, which questioned BSY’s failure to invite the dalits to his residence and arrange food for them.  Most of the observers perceived the move as an election gimmick as BJP is on its mission to defeat congress party in the next state assembly elections scheduled for next year.
