New Delhi: The Budget session of parliament began today with President Ram Nath Kovind’s address to the joint sitting of the two Houses.
Amid the ongoing farmer protests demanding repeal of the three farm laws, the President, in his address, said that ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat is improving quality of lives of farmers.’
“It’s a new year & a new decade & we’re also entering into the 75th yr of independence.
Today, all MPs are present here with message and trust that however tough be the challenge neither we nor India will stop,” he said.
The Budget session is set to be stormy as the opposition aims to corner the government over the contentious farm laws. Over 18 opposition parties have announced their decision to boycott the President’s address in solidarity with the farmers agitating against the three contentious farm laws.
