Bugatti Type 59, one of the most beautiful racing cars will be showcased at the Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace this year. The event is renowned as one of the top three concours d’elegance events in the world and will take place between September 3 and 5.
Type 59 has been regarded as one of the most beautiful track cars ever made by the Molsheim automaker. It dates back to 1934 and is one of six or seven built.
Famed as the most beautiful of all Bugatti’s motorsport creations and one of the best-looking racing cars of all time, Type 59 opted for a unique shape with the width of a two-seater so that the driver could sit low next to the gearbox as Ettore Bugatti didn’t want his drivers to sit high over the propeller shaft. The car rides on piano wire wheels and uses a straight eight-cylinder engine, with two Zenith carburetors on top and a supercharger mounted to the right.
The Concours of Elegance will gather a total of around 1,000 cars in a number of special features and displays, including a Gulf vs Martini celebration, a display of unique or bespoke modern rarities in the Future Classics class and a line-up of the finest coachbuilt Rolls-Royces.
