Building the future: Chowta’s ‘Navayuga Navpatha’ manifesto sets ambitious goals for DK

Captain Brijesh Chowta unveiled the BJP Manifesto “Navayuga Navpatha” agenda for the Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency, aiming to foster a developed district that aligns with the vision of a prosperous India as the country enters the Amritkala phase.
The manifesto was released by MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and Tamil Nadu BJP president Annamalai at a ceremony held at the BJP district office.
The agenda encompasses various facets of development, including connectivity, infrastructure enhancement, industrial growth, startup and entrepreneurial initiatives, tourism promotion, women’s empowerment, cultural preservation, agricultural advancements, animal husbandry, fisheries, youth engagement, coastal development, and security measures.
Chowta emphasized that the agenda was crafted to realize a developed Dakshina Kannada,” in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of achieving a developed India by 2047. He highlighted the significant development initiatives undertaken in the district during the past decade under the leadership of MP Nalin Kumar, aiming to expedite ongoing projects and foster further progress.
Key highlights of the Manifesto are as follows:
Infrastructure and Connectivity:
* Addressing the connectivity Issues between Mangalore and Bangalore which requires a strategic blend of infrastructural enhancements and technological innovations while also keeping the ecological challenges in mind.
* An all-weather connectivity road between Mangalore and Bangalore on the Shiradi Ghat stretch to enable better connectivity, easier travel and greater tourism prospects.
* Explore the possibility of a new line for a high-speed rail link between Mangalore and Bangalore which can significantly reduce travel time well as facilitate cargo movement.
Industry and Investment:
* Transforming our potential into possibility by Inviting investment from across sectors assuring them of ease of doing business with good governance.
* Greater boost to the small and medium scale enterprises and setting up clusters especially in the food processing, textile and fisheries & marine products sector with special attention to women and fisherfolk communities as well as exploring possibilities of seaweed cultivation.
* Invite global companies across sectors to base their RED centres here.
Start-up & Entreprenuership:
* Facilitate the emergence of a vibrant start-up ecosystem, with co-working spaces, start-up incubators, innovation hubs and accelerators providing crucial support and mentorship to budding entrepreneurs.
* BackTeDoru- An Initiative to bring back to our hometown, our people who have successfully established businesses across the country in the last few decades. This is aimed at encouraging them to set up businesses here and generate employment opportunities for our rural youth too, here in Dakshina Kannada itself.
* BYOB- Be Your Own Boss – A Mentoring program for aspiring entreprenuers by successful industry leaders who will handhold young minds of our region to turn their ideas into plan of action and mentor them to setup businesses here.
+ Initiating efforts for a Film City in Dakshina Kannada; Efforts to promote pursuit of gaming, design, IT, animation, and other creative enterprises with a multifaceted approach that encompasses education, infrastructure, Industry collaboration, and policy support.
Tourism:
* Developing basic infrastructure and facilities at all our beaches with special focus on Sashitlu-opening up avenues for both beach tourism as well as facilitating setup and promotion of adventure sports.
roofets to promote temple tourism, folk & food Tuze, ecosogical tourism that can generate both investment and emptoyment opportunities while preserving the local social and cultural ecosystems.
Nari Shakti:
*Women have been the driving force of our economy especially in sectors like hospitality, textile, food, travel, tourism among others.
* Initiate discussions with notable women entrepreneurs and Industry leaders and facilitate greater participation of women in our economie growth plan.
* Ensure efforts for the safety and security of women.
Culture & Heritage:
* Protection and promotion of the diverse cultural heritage of our region.
* Setting up a Tulunadu Heritage Experience Centre; Strive to ensure our Tulu Language gets its due recognition and seek to avail an Intangible Cultural Heritage Status for the same.
* A Traditional Medicine Centre named after Deyi Baideti to preserve and promote traditional medicinal knowledge systems of the region.
Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Fisheries:
* Facilitate sustained financial and technological support to our farmers with special focus on natural farming, protection of indigenous breeds of cattle, as well as efforts to address the issues around key crops like areca among others.
* Efforts for upgradation of the Fisheries College to University status at the earliest to enable greater advancements in the fisheries sector.
* Ensure fishermen of Dakshina Kannada thrive and contribute to the nation’s Blue revolution, while addressing the evolving challenges and oppertunities facing the fisheries sector, including sustainability, technology adoption, and market integration.
Youth and Connect:
* Ensure skill-based training opportunities are available to our youth increasing their employability.
* Initiate innovative ways to address issues like drug abuse, mental health awareness and overall-wellbeing.
* Strengthen the sports ecosystem with infrastructure, training and support needed to enable our youth to bring our nation global glory in the field of sports.
* A sainik school named after Rani Abakka.
* ‘Catch-up with Captain’- a regular open interaction with people across the constituency.
Coastal Development & Security:
* Strengthening our coastline by developing a resilient infrastructure.
* Explore possibilities of waterways between key coastal towns.
* Efforts to have an NIA Centre and Forensic Research centre aimed at dismantling the terror networks and keeping vigil on the rising cases of terror activities on the coast.
* Expedite timely completion of India’s first Coast Guard Academy.
