Kapu: Thieves have made away with a whopping Rs 60 lakh in cash after breaking into a textile shop in Udyavara in the early hours of March 15.

The daring robbery took place between 01.25 AM and 03.30 AM, and the thieves gained entry to the store by breaking the exhaust fan installed in the ground floor washroom.

Once inside the store, the burglars made their way to the cash counter on the ground floor and took the money kept in the retail counters before heading upstairs to the office. There, they were able to open the safe locker containing the money.

Kapu police have since registered a case and launched an investigation into the matter.
