Bus carrying school going children meets with an accident

Udupi: A bus ferrying 65 students of Shri Maramma Devara Rural high school, Doddaramapura, Tumakuru, hit a tree near Karkala on Friday.

According to police, few children sustained injuries due to the accident, and were taken to KMC Manipal hospital. A total seven children received minor injuries.

The bus driver lost control of the vehicle and rammed into an autorickshaw which was travelling, and then hit a tree, after which it stopped.

The injured, bus driver Mohsin (27) is undergoing treatment at KMC Hospital, Manipal while the teachers Shivagangaiah (40) and R C Ramesh (54) have been admitted to Wenlock hospital in Mangaluru.
