Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister and Transport Minister Lakshman Savadi has said that though some organisations have called for a bandh on Monday, September 28, regular government buses will not be affected.

“All precautionary measures have been taken to ensure the smooth working of bus traffic throughout the State. Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation, Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation, North West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation and Northeast Karnataka Road Transport Corporation will continue to operate their services within their jurisdiction as usual. People need not worry about this,” he said.

We have already spoken with senior police officers to ensure that security measures are provided for buses and other government property on the day of the bandh, he added.

He warned that the government would not hesitate to take stern action against anyone who tries to harm buses and public property.
