Businessman cheated of Rs 4.7 lakh

Bengaluru: A woman allegedly cheated a businessman of around Rs. 4.7 lakh rupees and told that she would send ornaments which he could use to help her buy a house.
The lady has been identified as Rachana Karam working as a nurse in the United States.
The victim is Ravikumar from Bengaluru.
Rachana befriended businessman Ravikumar R on a social networking website.
Rachana was in touch with Ravi and said that she had gold ornaments and American dollars that could be converted to Indian currency so that she could buy the property with Ravikumar’s help. He asked her to send the gold and the dollars.
After a few days, Ravikumar received calls from Nisha Kumari who introduced herself as customs official and said that he had received a parcel from the US and to claim the parcel, Ravi had to send money to the account.
Even after a few days, when the parcel hadn’t reached him, it was confirmed that it was a scam to dupe him of money.
