The deceased has been identified as Santhosh Kumar who was running a restaurant in Basavanapura. He resided in Hulimavu. On Thursday night, he hung himself from the ceiling fan at his house when his family is asleep. Santhosh also left behind a death note which mentioned Sunil’s name, a money lender from whom Santhosh had borrowed money.
It is said that Sunil was harassing Santhosh to pay him extra interest since he failed to repay the loan. Sunil also visited his home few days back and took away Santhosh’s bike and mobile phone. This depressed Santhosh and forced him to commit suicide. According to the police, Santhosh had helped one of his friends to get loan which he couldn’t repay due to continuous loss.
