By-election date for two BBMP wards announced

Bengaluru: The state election commission has announced the by-election date for two BBMP wards. As per the release, the elections will be held for the Kaveripura and Sagayapura wards on May 29 and the counting will be on May 31
The Sadayapura ward fell vacant after the death of Elumalai, an independent corporator. The Kaveripura ward also fell vacant after the death of the corporator, former deputy mayor Rameela Ravishankar of the JDS.
Meanwhile, JDS city unit president Prakash has urged Congress to continue the alliance in the BBMP by-election as well. ” The JDs has been winning Kaveripura from the last three terms. So, the Congress should support us here and we can support them in Sagayapura,” he added.
