Uppunda: The body of Satish Kharvi (30), a fisherman who went missing in the boat tragedy at Karkikali beach on Monday, was found on Tuesday night.
The body was recovered from the right side of the Koderi Sea Walk in Uppunda.
The search and rescue operations were launched, with Byndoor police and coast guard, to locate the fishermen. They used drone cameras to comb the areas.
A fishing boat with 8 persons onboard, had capsized went it was returning ashore after an expedition. Another fisherman, Nagesh (29), had died after being rescued in the incident. the total fatalities in the incident now stands at 2.
Meanwhile, Karnataka Fisheries Minister Mankala Vaidya visited the accident spot and met with the family of the deceased. He offered his condolences and handed over cheques of Rs 6 lakhs each to the kin as compensation. MLA Gururaj Gantihole, former MLA K. Gopal Poojary accompanied the minister during the visit.
