Byndoor: Gold trader loses Rs 18 lakh gold in Mumbai-M’luru bus; theft case filed

A gold trader filed a police complaint regarding the theft of his bag containing gold worth Rs 18 lac from the Mumbai-Mangaluru bus in which he was travelling.
The complainant, Eshwar Dalichand Porwal (48) has been selling gold in Mangaluru after procuring it from Mumbai and other places for nearly a decade.
He said that the theft took place when the bus had stopped during the lunch hours at Neergadde in Shiroor. All the passengers had alighted from the bus and were having lunch when the bus cleaner raised an alarm that he noticed some strangers decamp with a bag from the bus.
As Eshwar had kept his bag containing the gold under the seat of the bus he rushed to check it and found that it was missing. A bag kept in the luggage compartment of the bus too was broken open and its contents stolen.
The miscreants it is said fled in a white colour car.
Byndoor police are investigating the case.
