Byndoor: Heavy rainfall; 5000 chickens dead; lightning strikes house

Byndoor: Heavy rainfall that lashed many places here on the night of September 6 caused extensive damage to life and property.
At Chakkattil, a poultry farmer named BJ Benny lost five thousand chickens after water entered his farm.
The house of Girija Madawal was damaged after been struck by lightning. The impact of the lightning strike has left cracks on the wall and shattered many household materials. It is estimated that the damages to the house are almost Rs 1 lakhs.
At Yelajit, Devlappa Poojary’s house was damaged by the heavy rains. Water flowing down from the hills entered his house, paddy fields and banana plantations damaging all in the flooding.
