Anand along with his wife Sumitha who have lived in Washington DC for the past 35 years, run the Woodlands hotel. It is reported that Anand’s parents are the residents of Kallangadi Mane of Aloor village in the taluk.
It is also said that the couple often hosts eminent officials, including union government ministers on their visit to Washington. One such occasion being Friday, September 24, when the couple hosted Indian PM Narendra Modi for the fourth time.
The Prime Minister was served idli, vada, sambar and two types of sweet dishes for breakfast.
