Byndoor: Politics is not anyone’s private property. It is not stagnant water. Despite setbacks, “we will organize the party and better days will come,” said Lakshmi Hebbalkar, Minister of Women and Child Development.
Speaking at a party workers’ meeting at the Byndoor Block Congress office on Saturday, the minister said that once upon a time, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts were strongholds of the Congress party. Now, Congress is in a difficult situation. “Our party has shortcomings. We must first correct them. Elections do not happen smoothly, and a good name alone is not enough to win. Truth will eventually triumph,” she said.
Congress was in a dire state in Uttar Pradesh. Now, six Congress MPs have been elected from UP. “Modi, who won by a lead of 4.50 lakh votes last time, won by just 1.45 lakh votes this time. This indicates that Congress is strengthening across the country,” said Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar.
“Former MLA Gopal Poojary would have become a minister if he had won last time. Let us all reorganize and move forward with courage. Let’s start preparing for the next election now. I will work under the guidance of Gopal Poojary to bring the Congress party back to power in the constituency,” she urged.
The BJP government has no programs; their only job is propaganda. Rahul Gandhi is the leader of the opposition today, thanks to the Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. In the coming days, Rahul Gandhi’s leadership will benefit the nation, she said.
Former MLA Gopal Poojary, Block Congress President Aravind Poojary, former Zilla Panchayat President Raju Poojary, former Taluk Panchayat member Madan Kumar, and leaders like Kishan Hegde were present on this occasion.
