Byndoor: Someshwara Hill in Paduvari, Byndoor, is at risk of collapsing. If it collapses, many houses at Someshwara could be buried, leading to a potential disaster.

Allegations of Negligence

Due to heavy rains over the past week, various parts of Byndoor have suffered extensive damage. The condition of  Ottinene Hill is also deteriorating.

Although the Highway Authority has taken some precautions, a private individual has allegedly been cutting the hill for road construction over the past two years, increasing the risk of collapse. There is no retaining wall beside the road on the hill, causing soil erosion. The hill might collapse if the rain continues.

Locals alleged that despite repeated warnings, the town panchayat has not addressed the issue.
