Cabbie threatens home-alone woman with toy gun, robs 50-gram mangalya gold chain

Bengaluru: A 36-year-old man has been arrested on charges of robbery and a 50-gram mangalya gold chain was recovered from his possession.
The accused identified as Lingappa, a resident of Singapura is a cab driver by profession. He allegedly resorted to robbery to repay his hand loans and chose a home-alone woman as his victim.
On Wednesday, Lingappa procured a toy gun and knocked on Nandini’s house, located in SMR Layout in Kereguddadahalli claiming that he came to repair the cable. He then managed to barge into the residence and flashed the gun to threaten Nandini into handing the valuables.
As Nandini tried to raise an alarm, Lingappa gagged her and snatched the mangalya chain before fleeing from the spot in his car.
Nandini approached the police who managed to trace and arrest Lingappa with help of the car registration number.
