Cabinet nod for 240 kg golden chariot at Kukke Subramanya temple

Bengaluru: The Cabinet on Thursday gave its consent for a long-pending project for building a golden chariot for the famous Kukke Subramanya temple.
Though the proposal for construction of the golden chariot, at a cost of Rs 15 crore, had been approved by the then state government in the year 2005 the project had not taken off till now. As per the revised estimate submitted before the state cabinet the cost of building the 240 kg golden chariot will cost Rs 80 crore
According to a source, the proposal got a push from CM Kumaraswamy himself who is said to be a devotee of the temple.
