Bengaluru: Former chief minister Kumaraswamy on Friday alleged that BS Yeddyurappa’s wife died under mysterious circumstances, reigniting the controversy if Maitri Devi’s death was a case of accidental drowning or a murder.
Speaking in Channapatna, Kumaraswamy raised doubts on how someone could have slipped into the small opening of the sump measuring 1.5 feet and alleged that this was a case of unnatural death.
The autopsy report, submitted then, claimed it to be a case of drowning in a tank in the house by accident.
Escalating his attack on the BJP, Kumaraswamy said that they spent crores of rupees to topple the Congress-JDS coalition government and accused CP Yogeshwar of playing a pivotal role in destabilising his government.
Politics is meant for crooked people and not for sincere people. I am contemplating staying away from politics, he said.
Further, he added that he had not amassed wealth by illegal means and thus was not scared of any probe either by the ED or the CBI.
