How would you feel if employers denied you a job just because you are suffering from a disease? One may say – frustration, anger, helplessness! It was the same feeling for Arsh Nandan Prasad, an IT professional, who is undergoing treatment for Cancer, until recently.

Arsh took to LinkedIn to express his frustration at not securing a job despite having the necessary qualification and experience. Prasad posted an image of himself on the social networking site, attending a job interview while sitting in his hospital bed. In the post, he shared the challenges of finding a job while suffering the worst phase of his life.

Arsh described how recruiters from one company after another rejected him, solely because of his medical condition, despite him being qualified for the job. “As the recruiters come to know that I’m fighting cancer, I see the change in their expressions. I don’t need your sympathy!! I’m here to prove myself” he wrote.

“When you give your best in the interviews but are not selected for the mere fact that you are going through a rough patch in life certainly shows how generous these companies are,” his post read.

The post, which went viral, caught the attention of the CEO of a Maharashtra-based IT firm.

Nilesh Satpure, offered Arsh a job at Applied Cloud Computing. “You are a warrior. Please stop attending interviews during your treatment. I checked your credentials they are very strong. You can join us whenever you want. There will be no interview (sic),” he wrote.
