Mangaluru: Newly elected Lok Sabha member Capt. Brijesh Chowta has vowed to realize a ‘Vikasit Dakshina Kannada’ with the blessings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the support of the people, and the divine blessings of the Daiva deities of Tulunadu.

Speaking at a function held at TMA Pai Hall on Saturday evening to thank the party workers who contributed to his victory, Capt. Chowta said, “Despite attempts to play caste politics in the district, our workers have shown that religious identity prevails in this land of Tulunadu, a land of truth and dharma. This victory belongs to Hindutva, to youth leadership, and nationalism.”

The event saw the attendance of BJP District President Satish Kumpala, Mayor Sudheer Shetty Kannur, MLAs Vedavyas Kamath, Dr. Bharat Shetty, Bhagirati Murulya, Umanath Kotian, Harish Poonja, former Minister B. Nagaraj Shetty, former MLA Sanjeeva Matandoor, former MLC Pratapsimha Nayak, Nitin Kumar, JDS Youth District President Akshith Suvarna, and Kishore Botiadi. District General Secretary Premanand Shetty welcomed the gathering, with Rakesh Rai anchoring the event and Yatish Arvar proposing the vote of thanks.

BJP District President Satish Kumpala noted that the current Lok Sabha election posed a challenge with a new team of office-bearers in the district. However, the combined efforts and strength of former MP Nalin Kumar, former district president Sudarshan, all office bearers, MLAs, and workers ensured Capt. Brijesh Chowta’s victory.

Lok Sabha election in-charge Capt. Ganesh Karnik remarked that the next five years would be challenging for the country. However, he praised the enthusiasm and strength of the workers, emphasizing the need to continue working with the same commitment to overcome divisive forces and ensure national progress.

Victory Celebration and Grand Vehicle Procession

Capt. Brijesh Chowta was warmly welcomed by a large contingent of workers from Mangaluru airport to TMA Pai Hall on his first visit to the district after being sworn in as the new MP. The procession saw celebrations along the way, with welcome events held at Kavoor, KPT, Yeyyadi, Padavinangady, and Bejai. Workers celebrated with fireworks.

Tribute

Before beginning his speech, Capt. Brijesh Chowta paid tribute to those who lost their lives in recent natural disasters.
