Car accident: Pedestrian dead

Kapu: A man died after he was hit by a car while walking beside the road along NH 66 at Kotalakatte on Friday night. The deceased is identified as Latish Mendon, a resident of Uliyaragoli yard.

The deceased was an auto rickshaw driver and was walking towards his home after having parked the auto rickshaw, was hit by an unidentified car which was proceeding from Kapu towards Udupi. The car did not stop after hitting the victim and simply sped off.

The seriously injured Latish was immediately rushed to the hospital by the locals, but he lost his life even while reaching the hospital.

The deceased was unmarried and is survived by his mother and two sisters. Kapu police visited the location, conducted inspection and have registered a case.
