Yeyyadi: A bike rammed into a Maruthi 800 car at Yeyyadi resulting in grievously injuring three persons on Monday, July 23rd.

The injured have been identified as Suresh Bhandary (55), Rekha Daya Bhandary (35) and Moosa Mukkacheri, Ullal, a diploma student of KPT.

According to eyewitness, in his attempt to overtake a tipper lorry, Moosa lost control of his bike and crashed into the Maruthi car heading from KPT and turning into the road leading to Shaktinagar. The impact of the crash damaged the bike, windshield and the door of the car.

The collision caused severe injuries to Rekha Daya Bhandary. Moosa too suffered major injuries to his back and legs but his helmet saved his head from sustaining serious injury. The injured were rushed to A J hospital by the locals.

Blaming the administration of not installing speed breakers along the Airport road, the angry locals warned of stopping the passage of VIP vehicles along the route if the concerned department failed to install speed breakers along the route within a week.
