Car catches fire midway-occupants escape

Udupi: A car coming towards Mangaluru, suddenly caught fire near Jodukatte here on Saturday September 8th. However, the occupants in the car escaped without any harm.
The woman who was driving the Maruti-800 car and another occupant of the car noticed flames leaping out of the bonnet. They immediately stopped the vehicle and walked away, thereby preventing any injury.
A few people who were passing by this spot captured the proceedings on their cellphone, but none amongst them contacted the fire station. Eventually, a youth realized the folly, walked to the fire station located 500 meters from the incident spot and alerted them. However, by then the car had been charred completely.
Later, the town police visited the spot, gathered information and carried investigation.
