Car crashes into mosque compound, goes soaring in air

Mangaluru: In a shocking incident a Maruti Omni car went soaring in the air before crashing down after ramming into the compound wall of a mosque at Farangipet here on Tuesday, October 22 afternoon. Five persons sustained injuries in the accident.

A CCTV footage of the accident shows the car, belonging to Prasad Eye Care hospital moving towards Mangaluru from BC Road when the driver rammed into the Tahwa Juma mosque compound wall went soaring into the air and crashed at the other end of the mosque compound.

Two of the injured identified as Ismail and Sulaiman were present in the Masjid campus at the time of the mishap. The identity of three others – occupants of the car, including the driver is yet to be ascertained. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Police visited the spot and are investigating the case.
