Car parked near a hotel in Udupi bursts into flames

Udupi: A Toyota Innova car which was parked near a hotel in the city caught fire at around 4:30 am in the morning o f Sunday Dec 23rd.

The vehicle which caught fire all of a sudden was parked close to the hotel and consequently the tongues of fire caused a little damage to the building and its name board. If the fire personnel had not doused the fire, there was an existential danger that the fire would have engulfed the building as well.

The car driver identified as Ganesh had brought the tourist from Bengaluru in a car belonging to a Tour’s and Travels Company from the metro. During the incident, all of them were in the hotel.

It is learnt that the cause for the fire is due to a short circuit of the condenser within the car. The total loss incurred is estimated to be around Rs 19 lakh.
