Car topple: One killed, another injured

Madikeri: A youth was killed another injured when a speeding car hit a tree and toppled near Coorgalli Estate on Madikeri-Mysore State highway on March 10.

The deceased has been identified as Kaushik (29) a resident of Pumpwell Layout in Suntikoppa town. He is the son of Somaiah.

On March 10, Kaushik was heading in his car towards Kushalnagara after attending his grandmother’s post death rituals. Along with Kaushik, Rithesh was also in the car. The speeding car lost control and hit a tree on the side of the road. The car toppled as a result of the hit and Kaushik suffered severe head injuries. He was immediately taken to the hospital but succumbed to the injuries on the way to the hospital. Rithesh, the other passenger suffered severe injuries and is undergoing treatment at the Madikeri District Hospital.
