Moodbidri: The Devadanapatti police of Tamil Nadu, probing the Mohammed Sameer murder case have seized the Toyota Etios car used by his perpetrators from Moodbidri here.
A resident of Ganjimutt Sameer’s dead body was found in Tamil Nadu, days after a missing complaint was filed by his father Ahmed Saheb. Preliminary investigations have hinted at the involvement of Sameer’s wife Firdaus and her paramour Asif in the murder.
According to the police, Firdaus had booked a cab, belonging to Asif for travelling towards Kodaikanal. During the course of the journey, Asif and Firdaus got Sameer out of the car, rendered him unconscious by administering him a drug and slit his throat with a knife. Their plan was to dispose of Sameer’s body in a trench but for some reason, they failed to execute it.
It is gathered that the Devadanapatti police which is in the district since last few days also paid a visit to Sameer’s house here for investigations and have taken few people into custody for questioning. As per sources, the police have got a breakthrough into the murder case.
Meanwhile Firdaus and Asif, it is believed, have fled the country with Rs 5 lakh cash and 60 gold sovereigns.
