Cars collide; two dead

Madikeri: In a head on collision that took place between two cars at Anekadu along Madikeri-Mysuru highway has claimed the lives of two persons of the same family. The deceased are identified as Satish (42) and his sister Jyothi (36), residents of Mellalliya in Periyapattana taluk.
The deceased were travelling in an Alto car towads Madikeri when an i20 car crashed head on into it. The impact of the crash was such that the Alto car was hurled into the forest and Satish lost his life on the spot. Jyothi, who had suffered grievous injuries died while en-route to Kushalnagar hospital, inform the police.
A man and a woman who were travelling in the i20 car from Madikeri towards Bengaluru survived with minor injuries.
The deceased Satish and Jyothi are the children of Shivalinge Gowda, a resident of Mellenahalli. Satish is survived by his wife and two children while Jyothi has a daughter, inform the family members.
