Case booked against 7 unauthorized visa agencies

Mangaluru: The city police have started to take action against unauthorized visa agencies that give visa for employment abroad. The cops conducted raids at 7 such centres in the city on Saturday and booked cases.
Only those visa agencies which have a permit from the department of external affairs are officials while those without the permit are unofficial. The action was initiated against such agencies in the backdrop of a notice from the department of external affairs asking to take action against such unauthorized agencies – Dr| Harsha P S, City Police Commissioner
On Saturday, policemen carried out raids at various visa agencies coming within the limits of different police stations, inspected documents and booked cases against 7 unauthorized visa agencies.
Recently, 34 mangalureans who had gone to Kuwait on the job visa provided by Manikya Associates in the city ended up in much trouble after not having been given the job mentioned in the visa. Eventually, they returned back home facing much trouble and penniless. This delegation which suffered in Kuwait, called upon the police commissioner on Friday and submitted an appeal requesting him to facilitate the return of Rs 75,000 which they had paid to Manikya Associates for the job. Right in its back, the police conducted raids against unauthorized visa agencies in the city on Saturday.
Use only official agencies: compol
Those going abroad must only approach official visa agencies for visa and other process. They need to make sure if the agency is official and inspect if it has got a permit from the department of external affairs – Compol
