Case filed against Raghupati Bhat

Udupi: Officials of the Election Commission seized publicity materials related to BJP candidate, K.
Raghupati Bhat, and 2 lakh rupees in cash from a car at a check-post near the Krishi Vigyan Kendra at
Brahmavar in Udupi district on Thursday.

According to the police, the team was checking vehicles at the check-post at Krishi Vigyan Kendra near
Brahmavar and found pamphlets worth about 15,000 rupees publicising Mr. Raghupati Bhat and 2 lakh rupees in the vehicle.

A case of violation of the model code of conduct was been filed by officer Jayaram Acharya against
Pratap Hegde Marali, BJP zilla panchayat member, who was in the car, and the car driver, Harish S., and
after getting permission from the court Raghupati Bhat too at the Brahmavar police station under
Section 171F, 171H of Indian Penal Code, and 123(1) and 127(A) of Representation of People Act, the
police said.
