Case registered over false Facebook account of Udupi DC

Udupi: A complaint has been lodged at the Udupi police station over a false Facebook account in the name of district’s Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesha.
A false Facebook account by the name ‘DC Udupi’ was created on May 31 that also featured the photo of Jagadeesha.
The miscreants also soliticed funds for various reasons in the name of the deputy commissioner.
Hence, a case was registered on Wednesday under Section 66(C) and 66(D) of the Indian Penal Code and also under the provisions of the Information Technology Act.
